Saturday by the Bay

Yesterday, I kept my promise to have Czarcole, our very adorable black Shipoo (shihtzu-poodle), groomed. He's turning one on Monday and I figured I'd give him some well-deserved treat for bringing joy to our home and for treating my cynophobia (fear of dogs). It was his first time to be groomed outside because our dad believes it's a waste of money and he can do all the grooming by himself... which often results to disastrous dos (He once turned Czarcole into a lion! Poor dog!)

Czarcole in the backseat going to Cartimar

Shortly after lunch, the three of us, J, Czar and I, headed to Cartimar, the pet capital of the city. Initially, we put Czarcole in the front seat with us, but he kept on climbing up to J's lap to see things through his window. (I don't get why he doesn't like my side!) So to avoid any vehicular accidents, I put him in the backseat where he can freely look at the view outside, but to my surprise, he just lay there in silence. When we finally reached Cartimar, his lunch, in semi-digested form, is waiting to be cleaned right in the gap of the seats! Boo :(

We left Czarcole with the pet store stylist and it took more than an hour for the whole grooming session. I wonder if Czarcole enjoyed his treat because he hates taking a bath and having his hair cut. But whatever, he looks so much better now and is almost 100% tangle-free! Wee :) We walked him to MoA after (his first time, also) and I swear, I probably heard more than a dozen comments from random strangers about how cute he looked. :> I'm a proud sister! :D

The clock struck six and we had to take Czarcole home already and get ready for a dinner at eight. I hope he had fun today. :D

-----

J and I met with Dianne and JR at King One Hot Pot along Macapagal for dinner. They debated whether to eat here or Yakimix and I don't have a say because I haven't been to either and I pretty much eat anything :)) I'm not much of a fan of eat-all-you-can buffets because I think I can only eat 50% of what I'm paying for if I'm not in pigout mode. But anyway, any new food discovery is worth trying.

I'd say there is nothing much to rave about the food because you cook it your own way. However, I do love the meatballs and fishballs with cheese in its core and the mango jelly slushie. ♥ Another thing that amused me is the conveyor belt (ala sushi train) which carries small servings of food you can add to your hotpot. It is conveniently located beside the tables so you can get whatever, whenever.

Steamy eat-all-you-can!

Hotpot Belt

We almost did not finish our food (subjected to P699 left over charge) but thankfully, some burnt scallop shell on the other half of our pot saved our crying full-tank tummies! Yay! :) The waiter emptied the other pot and threw the awful tasting contents away, saving each of us an extra P175 and more room for what's left for us to eat. *Whew*

We returned back to MoA again to walk and help our tummies digest all the food we ate. We crossed to San Miguel by the Bay (my first time!) where we downed a pitcher of Margarita in less than half an hour. (I realized I'm sober for the longest time (since January, I think) and I missed alcohol and my alcohol-drinking buddies! :D)

Cheers to good times!

Was home around one and had a serious/fun conversation with J about our previous crushes! What a nice topic, I know. (Hangover from Dianne's HS stories!) It's surprising that you can still learn a lot from a person even if you constantly talk everyday for the past two years. Definitely, the best conversations happen late at night! :)

Yesterday night is one for the books! Next time, we'll definitely have Yakimix, more margaritas and late night chikas! :D

Jobless Blues

Ahhhh I miss blogging! It's been a while since I sat in front of the computer and type something worthwhile. (Mostly, it's just Facebook or Twitter.)

So what urged me to start this? Well, let's just say I still have all the time in the world.

I just graduated last February (but I'm done with schooling since December) and I'm still jobless. I have applied to several companies but only through jobstreet.com and some email addresses. Right now, I'm not receiving any feedback nor do I follow up. I don't know, I guess I'm just halfheartedly applying just so I feel that I'm not doing anything because seriously, I don't know where to take it from here yet.

Strange how when I was still in college, I was so eager to go on that stage and graduate so that I could start working. I'm an advertising management graduate but it never crossed my mind to work in an advertising agency. My target was publication (Summit Media) or events. Last January, I applied for a production design company (which handled mostly events) and I was hired immediately. But it was I who turned down the job because I realized how stressful it can get - no weekends off, no definite work hours. I can't possibly handle that - but then I applied to another prestigious events company (which handles mostly fashion events) and probably, had I not missed the second interview for my graduation practice, I would have been hired, too. I should be crying with regret by now but I'm not. I'm actually thinking if I can handle the level of commitment this industry is asking from me. Yes, I'm hardworking and all but can I devote that much time to my job?

Then came the answer: I WANT A 9 to 5 JOB. So probably I want to work on the marketing side, or event the account management side. But I find 'clerical' work too boring. I do not want to be stuck in an office cubicle doing paperwork. I want to be constantly moving places and meeting new people. I want to work because I love what I'm doing, not because it's my only choice.

Now, I'm caught in this dilemma only I can solve. And it's not as easy as choosing what clothes to wear or what shoes to match with my outfit. It's a big big big decision that will determine what career you will pursue for the rest of your life. I can be experimental but it's not like I can quit my job whenever I can, right? I really need to make up my mind and I'm in no rush!

The bright side about this is no one is pressuring me to work! I don't know exactly if that is good or bad, but I think having the most understanding parents helps. I mean, some parents are coercing their children to work already, while mine do not mind all the time I'm spending at home. I have a feeling that my dad doesn't want me to work... at all! He always tells me to not aspire working for others, instead, I should aspire to be the boss others are working for. Maybe someday, dad!

So what's my plan? I just got a text from that events company I mentioned above and they said I can work as a freelancer. I'm thinking of giving it a try and I'll take it from there. :) Ahhh, I love the word "freelance" and the no-commitment commitment it implies.

Til my next entry!
